Indonesia Appoints New Honorary Consul in Latvia

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Stockholm officially held the Presentation Ceremony of the Letter of Commission appointing Mr. Jānis Kulikovskis as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Latvia. The ceremony took place at the Residence of the Ambassador of Indonesia in Stockholm and was led by H.E. Dr. Yayan Ganda Hayat Mulyana, Ambassador of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Latvia.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Stockholm officially held the Presentation Ceremony of the Letter of Commission appointing Mr. Jānis Kulikovskis as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Latvia. The ceremony took place at the Residence of the Ambassador of Indonesia in Stockholm and was led by H.E. Dr. Yayan Ganda Hayat Mulyana, Ambassador of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Latvia.

The event was also attended by H.E. Mr. Normans Penke, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Sweden and Non-Resident Ambassador to Indonesia, as well as officials from the Embassy of Indonesia in Stockholm.

During his remarks, Ambassador Yayan emphasized that the appointment of Mr. Kulikovskis marks an important step in strengthening Indonesia’s diplomatic presence and outreach in Latvia. He expressed confidence that the new Honorary Consul will play a strategic role in advancing bilateral cooperation, especially in economic promotion, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connections.

Following the presentation of the Letter of Commission and the working instruments, Mr. Kulikovskis expressed his appreciation for the Government of Indonesia’s trust. They reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Indonesia–Latvia relations.

After the ceremony, a short coordination meeting was held to discuss ways forward to enhance bilateral relations, including cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, and multilateral engagement.

The ceremony concluded with a working luncheon hosted by the Ambassador.

With this appointment, Indonesia aims to strengthen its cooperation with Latvia further and expand friendly ties between the two nations.
