Empowering Cambodia’s Aquaculture – Knowledge That Drives Growth

The aquaculture industry in Cambodia is entering a new era of growth and innovation. As the global demand for sustainable food production continues to rise, empowering local farmers with access to modern knowledge, reliable feed solutions, and financial tools has become essential for building a resilient agricultural future.

LIONPRO, together with Wing Bank and the Cambodia Aquaculturist Association (CAA), took an important step in this direction by organizing an educational seminar in Phnom Penh. The event brought together more than one hundred aquaculture professionals from across the country to exchange experience and explore new ways to enhance feed efficiency, sustainability, and productivity in fish farming.

During the opening remarks, Zane Kuļikovska, Member of the Board at LIONPRO, highlighted the company’s long – standing belief that meaningful progress in agriculture begins with education. “Knowledge is the foundation of sustainability. When farmers understand how products work and how to properly formulate feed, it improves both animal health and productivity,” she emphasized.

This philosophy lies at the heart of LIONPRO’s work – combining European technical expertise with practical, hands – on knowledge that helps farmers strengthen their operations and adopt more sustainable farming practices.

The seminar also marked a turning point for Cambodia’s aquaculture sector. For the first time, a dedicated financing programme has been developed to support local farmers and feed producers, giving them access to premium – quality LIONPRO products and the financial means to grow faster and operate more efficiently.

With Wing Bank introducing specifically designed financing tools aimed at boosting local agriculture and the wider economy, the industry now has access to a truly powerful resource. This initiative enables farmers to improve feed quality and consistency, scale production, and strengthen traceability throughout the value chain. By bridging the gap between knowledge and capital, the partnership empowers Cambodia’s farmers to grow smarter, stronger, and more sustainably.

And this is only the beginning. Building on the success of this collaboration, LIONPRO and Wing Bank are already developing new solutions to support additional sectors and expand opportunities for regional development.

The event also served as a platform for dialogue between international experts and local practitioners. Chet Phirumand and Professor Yun Sovannarith shared their valuable insights based on years of experience working with the Cambodia Aquaculturist Association and local farmer cooperatives. Their contributions added depth to the discussions and highlighted the importance of collaboration in shaping a sustainable future for Cambodia’s aquaculture industry.

The initiative reflects LIONPRO’s long – term commitment to building bridges between European expertise and Asian innovation, fostering a future where sustainability, productivity, and shared growth go hand in hand. LIONPRO – Knowledge That Feeds Growth.
