Senior Group Accountant
About the position
LIONPRO is looking for an experienced Senior Group Accountant to take ownership of accounting, month-end close, and financial data quality for a defined set of Group entities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead or coordinate accounting processes for assigned Group entities and markets.
- Prepare and review month-end and year-end journal entries, including accruals and intercompany transactions and balances.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Ensure timely and complete preparation of financial data and reports.
- Ensure consistent application of Group accounting policies and control procedures.
- Coordinate statutory and Group audit processes for assigned entities, including preparation of financial statements and cooperation with external auditors and advisors.
- Review work prepared by junior accountants and provide practical guidance.
- Support Group entity accountants and Market Controllers in resolving day-to-day accounting matters.
- Collaborate with Finance colleagues, business units, and outsourced service providers to ensure effective process coordination.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and period-end close, ideally within an international company or group.
- Good understanding of balance sheet accounting, intercompany processes, inventory accounting, and account reconciliation.
- Practical experience supporting statutory or Group audits.
- Ability to resolve complex accounting issues independently.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and experience preparing local statutory financial statements will be considered an advantage.
- Experience with ERP implementation or SAP will be considered an advantage.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills.
- Good command of English for working in an international environment.
