Logistics Specialist

LIONPRO is looking for a Logistics Specialist whose primary focus will be ocean freight pricing, logistics cost analysis, and developing optimal shipping routes — working closely with shipping lines, freight forwarders, agents, and partners worldwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Request, gather, and compare ocean freight and logistics service quotes from shipping lines, freight forwarders, and agents
• Analyse freight and logistics costs, identify cost optimisation opportunities, and provide well-reasoned recommendations
• Develop and propose optimal shipping routes, evaluating costs, transit times, and service reliability
• Build and maintain cost calculators for key trade lanes
• Prepare freight rate calculations for the sales team’s offers and client inquiries
• Negotiate service terms and rates with carriers and shipping lines
• Maintain and regularly update a pricing database for regular and new routes
• Monitor ocean freight market trends, indices, and surcharges (e.g. fuel and seasonal surcharges)
• Coordinate cargo delivery processes in line with sales team instructions and concluded agreements
• Prepare cost and route reports and provide support to colleagues on logistics and pricing matters

WHAT WE EXPECT

• At least 5 years of experience in logistics, freight pricing, or a similar role
• Higher education in logistics, economics, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
• Understanding of ocean freight cost structures and international shipping
• Excellent Latvian and English skills — both written and spoken
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and respond promptly
• A collaborative team player with professional and positive communication
• Strong analytical skills and solid proficiency in Excel and data processing
• Knowledge of AI tools such as Claude / ChatGPT, Power BI, and Notion is considered an advantage
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is considered an advantage
